I purchased my Samsung Instinct phone the week it was released. Like many others, I was amazed by the commercials promising blazing fast internet and Apple iPhone type features. Like most others, I was severely disappointed at the performance of my Sprint Instinct phone.
After a few months of speculation, Sprint finally released a full-blown update for the phone. I had been following the forums for months, and was excited that the phone was about to receive the necessary updates to make it the great phone Sprint had promised. Like most others, I was once again disappointed by the scope of the update.
November promises to be a completely different story. The Samsung Instinct is slated to receive its second major update. This update promised to improve the browser and Java enable the keyboard. This is a major stepping stone for the Sprint Instinct. They are also slated to resolve various other known issues with the phone.
Overall the Samsung Instinct is a great phone. The Sprint Instinct should have been tested further before its release, and much customer disappointment could have been avoided. The navigation and multimedia are first rate. Unfortunately, it is the small bugs that are annoying people into trading in their Samsung Instincts. The hardware is great- the software is on its way to perfection. My advice is to hold on to your instinct. As of mid-November it should dominate the Apple iPhone!
